New film: Richard Linklater - Dream is Destiny

Dogwoof is happy to announce our first new film of 2016 is Richard Linklater - Dream is Destiny, a feature documentary following the life and career of filmmaker Richard Linklater (Boyhood, School of Rock, Before Sunrise) directed by Louis Black and produced by Karen Bernstein. The film is making its world premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival and we will be releasing the film in the UK this Spring.

An unconventional look at a fiercely independent style of filmmaking from Austin, Texas that emerged in the late 1980s and 1990s, outside the production power bases of Hollywood and New York City.   Richard Linklater – dream is destiny blends rare archive footage, journals, interviews with the subject himself, on and off the set with clips from Slacker, Dazed and Confused, Boyhood and more.   Other interviews include the actors and collaborators -- Matthew McConaughey, Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke, Jack Black, Julie Delpy, and Kevin Smith – as well as colleagues and friends --  John Pierson (Producer), John Sloss (Cinetic Media), Jonathan Sehring (IFC Films), Michael Barker (Sony Pictures Classics), Kent Jones (Film Society of Lincoln Center), Clark Walker (writer) and Tommy Pallotta (filmmaker).
