TDog film, The Family I Had, Set To Premiere at Tribeca

Last year, during Tribeca Film Festival, Dogwoof announced the launch of their production fund TDog. One of the projects presented at the speed-dating Tribeca meetings, The Family I Had by Katie Green and Carlye Rubin, was selected by Dogwoof and it will have its world premiere in Tribeca on 21st April. Dogwoof will represent the film for world sales.

The Family I Had, co-directed and produced by Katie Green and Carlye Rubin, tells the story of a 13-year-old boy who murders his 4-year-old sister. This seemingly isolated event quickly reveals a fascinating portrait of a family and their unique history. The film is executive produced by Julie Goldman of Motto Pictures.

Anna Godas, Dogwoof CEO, on what drew her to the film; “As soon as Carlye and Katie showed me some footage, I knew Dogwoof had to be involved. This is a much bigger story than a crime story, with multi-layered characters which no fiction could've written better.”

Carlye Rubin, co-director of the film, speaks about their collaboration with TDog; "Beyond the headlines of any newsworthy case, there is always a family. That is what drew us down the rabbit hole with this story. Anna Godas was the first meeting we had at TFI Network; she immediately understood that we weren't looking at this as a true crime expose, but as a nuanced portrait of a broken family. Having the support of Dogwoof has enabled us to make the film we intended to make and we're thrilled to have them on board."

Julie Goldman, executive producer of The Family I Had, on working with Dogwoof; "Dogwoof was fantastic to work with on Life, Animated and Weiner, so we are truly thrilled to continue the collaboration on Katie and Carlye's thoughtful, provocative new film - The Family I Had - which we are sure will have people talking long after they leave the theater."

TDog is a production fund that backs feature film documentaries and documentary series at any stage of development and will focus on those projects which can bring long-term strategic partnerships with key producers/directors.
