Dogwoof at Sheffield Doc/Fest

Sheffield Doc/Fest 2017 runs from June 9 - 14th and we are excited to have nine Dogwoof films screening at the festival! The programme for the annual festival was announced this morning and we are happy to share the Dogwoof line-up with you below:


Whitney 'Can I Be Me'

A film by Nick Broomfield and Rudi Dolezal

Sheffield Doc/Fest will host the UK premiere of this incredible new film on Sunday 11 June ahead of the UK cinema release on Friday 16 June. The screening will be followed by a special extended Q&A with Nick Broomfield who will also partake in a channel 4 talk hosted by Louis Theroux at the festival.


The Work

A film by Jairus McLeary and Gethin Aldous

Earlier this week we announced our latest acquisition, The Work - winner of the SXSW Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary. We are excited to announce the International premiere will be at Sheffield Doc/Fest this summer.


City of Ghosts

A film by Matthew Heineman

City of Ghosts is our second title from Oscar-nominated director Matthew Heineman and will have its UK premiere at Doc/Fest. The film will be released in UK cinemas on July 14th.


Dina

A film by Dan Sickles and Antonio Santini

Dina first premiered at Sundance Film Festival where it took home the Grand Jury Prize for US Documentary (taken by Weiner the year before.) Doc/Fest marks the UK premiere and co-director Dan Sickles will attend the festival for Q&A sessions following the screenings of this magical film.


Motherland

A film by Ramona Diaz

Motherland Dogwoof documentary

Motherland will be making its UK premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest this summer, director Ramona Diaz will attend the festival. The film first screened at Sundance Film Festival 2017 and took home the Special Jury Award for Commanding Vision.


The Departure

A film by Lana Wilson

The Departure Dogwoof Documentary

The UK premiere of The Departure will be at Sheffield, which had its world premiere recently at Tribeca Film Festival. The film is from director Lana Wilson who will attend the festival.


Dries

A film by Reiner Holzemer

Dries dogwoof documentary

We also have the UK premiere of Dries about Belgian fashion designer Dries van Noten - this film premiered at CPH:DOX this year.


QUEST

A film by Jonathan Olshefski.

Quest - Dogwoof

Quest is an intimate documentary film that captures eight years in the life of an African-­American family living in North Philadelphia.


RISK

A film Laura Poitras

Risk - Dogwoof

Filmed over six years, Risk is a complex and volatile character study of Julian Assange that collides with a high stakes election year and its controversial aftermath.
